I have just finished, with Raju's staff, the trek from Rara Lake to Khaptad National Park, where I greeted the statue of Baba Swami, installed on the terrace of his ashram.
This trek, between 1000 and 3000m, offers to the discovery, the landscapes of the extreme southwest of Nepal.
The days are spent in the middle of cultivated fields, where the villagers are busy, under the field of birds, and sometimes the cries of langur monkeys which play to be afraid, and, leaving the trees, take refuge at the top of the rock faces.
Of course, this is Nepal. Sometimes you have to go up, and then down, and up again, before you can put your bag down, and greedily enjoy the fruit juice the cook has prepared for you.
If you want to walk on paths lined with rhododendron flowers, to meet only Nepalese people rather than tourists, do this trek, which Raju will have prepared for you.
best regards,
John
